Courtyard in Buenos Aeris (2)
I have transferred the picture to canvas but I am still working in ink and water color trying to get the over all feel of the painting - a refuge from the bustle of B.A. and the the wonderful old worn architecture. I hope I keep the perspective right but it is not really a big concern for me. Next step will be oil paint.

Tango at Dorrego Square, Buenos Aires (2)
I have laid down the first layer of oil paint. I am trying to keep the mood of that evening (actually morning - 1:00 AM)..warm, humid, soft lighting, lots of people all over the square. We are in one corner under a Jacaranda tree that is still in bloom. I hope to intensify the mood over the next couple of layers. I paint quickly so each stage is about 30 minutes.

Tango at Dorrego Square, Buenos Aeris (1)
This is a preliminary roughing out on canvas of a compilation of images that I sketched originally on napkins while watching an outdoor tango demonstration at 1:00 AM in Dorego Square in Buenos Aires in pen and watercolour. The next stage will be to build the image with oil paints. I will publish this as I develop the picture. I welcome any comments, suggestions, etc.
Courtyard in Buenos Aeris (1)
This is a quick ink and watercolor sketch of a courtyard in Buenos Aires. I was there with Molly and friends for 18 days and between milongas (tango dances) and great food and wine I managed to do some sketches. Some were in real time on napkins and small scraps of paper and others on larger pads of paper were done from memory when we would come back to our apartment for our afternoon siesta. I plan to use this sketch to create an oil painting later this month which will appear in this blog as it goes through the process of "becoming".
